DCSD is seeking stakeholder input on their preferences and perspectives for learning models and hybrid options that the school district is considering for the reopening of schools. This feedback includes stakeholders' level of comfort with social distancing and hygiene efforts, school bus transportation, serving meals, taking temperature, access to technology and internet at home, and the use of masks at school. Coronavirus (COVID-19) Information
Free Wireless Internet

Comcast officials has announced that the company taking steps to implement new policies for the next 60 days to help ensure people stay connected to the Internet during COVID-19 (coronavirus) closures. One of those steps includes free Xfinity WiFi.

Xfinity WiFi hotspots across the country will be available to anyone who needs them for free—including non-Xfinity Internet subscribers.

For a map of Xfinity WiFi hotspots, visit www.xfinity.com/wifi. Once at a hotspot, consumers should select the “xfinitywifi” network name in the list of available hotspots and then launch a browser.

Meal Service Sites

DeKalb County School District meal service will be available for students in 21 locations and in conjunction with DeKalb Government afternoon snack sites, food will be available in a total of 30 sites.  The pickup sites for Toney Elementary School students (Region VI) are Bethune MS, Canby Lane ES, Peachcrest ES.  Please click here for a complete list of sites.

DeKalb County School District will also use buses to deliver ‘grab and go’ bags directly to students in the community beginning March 23, 2020.

The Atlanta Food Bank will partner with the District during the week of March 23rd and provide food distribution at the following existing meal sites:  Sequoyah MS, Jolly ES, Idlewood ES, Chapel Hill MS, and the DeKalb Early Learning Center.
