Solar Eclipse- Extended Day

According to National Aeronautic and Space Administration a solar eclipse will occur across North America, Monday, August 21st  when the moon will obscure 97.4 percent of the sun. The eclipse will be visible from 1:02 p.m. and end at 4:00 p.m.

The DeKalb County School District (DCSD) and Toney Elementary School will extend the school day by one hour, Monday, August 21, 2017 to provide safe viewing and instructional opportunities for the solar eclipse.  Dismissal will occur approximately one hour later than normal.  Details are forthcoming about activities for the solar eclipse and procedures for dismissal.  Please see the attached flyer for more information about the solar eclipse.
