<font size=5><font color=white>Program Summary

Title I, Part A is a federal program that provides financial assistance to local school systems and schools to support the academic achievement of disadvantaged students. The DeKalb County School District receives Title I funds which are distributed to schools within their districts so the schools can provide additional academic support and learning opportunities to help children master challenging curricula and meet state standards in core academic subjects. Title I funds support extra instruction in reading and mathematics, additional teachers, materials of instruction, as well as after-school and summer programs to extend and reinforce the regular school curriculum.

The DeKalb County School District Region VI Title Family Engagement Center is a hub for parents to help Region VI and its students increase academic achievement.  The Family Engagement Center also serves to help foster our school's vision of building a collaborative bridge among home, school, and community.  For more information about the Family Engagement Center, don't hesitate to contact the Center Facilitator, Demetria Purkett-Brown.
